Chapter 2: Weight Loss Objectives — Page 8An adult bowling ball weighs 16 lbs./7 kg. My objective was to lose the equivalent of three bowling balls of fat from my stomach, butt, chest, and importantly, from the areas in my body cavity where it exerted pressure on my diaphragm making it difficult to breath, crowded my heart raising my blood pressure, and created an environment where disease thrives. As I suggest in Nutritional Leverage, venture to your local bowling alley, and hold just one bowling ball in your hand, palm up, at the level of your waist. How long you can support it there? Are you carrying one, two, three, or more bowling balls all pressing down on your hips, knees, ankles, and feet? When you bend over to retrieve something from the floor, do you fall forward? Or, when you drop something, do you take a moment to ponder whether you ever really need that again? |
